Ryanair. Following good advice…

In October 2013, I explained where Ryanair’s strategy was going wrong. In essence, the difference between its summer and winter traffic was too great – causing some additional operational costs.


That winter, there were even some months where the airline’s traffic fell. Management said this was planned capacity reduction – not fooling me and doubtless many others. I think CEO Michael O’Leary was caught out; if not, it was bad management.


MoL announced a change in strategy in early-2014.


Now see the results – +22% in seat sales in November, and +20% in December. These are stunning growth rates for the airline which is already Europe’s largest.


I think I’ll claim credit.
